Star - William Clyde Green, age 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 29, 2021, at his residence.
Mr. Green was born in Montgomery County on June 4, 1926, to George Thomas and Esther Baldwin Green. He was a retired machine operator in cloth manufacturing and a member of Dover Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Terrell Green and his siblings, Bob, Tom, Odessa Mabe, Evelyn Allred, and Ida Bell McIntyre.
He is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Ann Hill of Jacksonville; son, Darrell Green (Terry) of Star; sisters, Carolyn Davis of Star and Patricia Johnson (Kelly) of Rural Hall; brother, Carl Green of Asheboro; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Green's body will lie in repose from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, at Phillips Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 1, at Dover Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ralph Smith officiating.
