Mrs. Willie Parks Owens, 88, of 4035 NC Hwy. 134 N., Star, died Friday, July 15, 2011 at Autumn Care of Biscoe. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 18, 2011, at Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Ether Road, Star, with the Rev. Mark Holder officiating. Mrs. Owens was born in Montgomery County to Charlie and Sara Elizabeth Beane Parks. She was a homemaker and also operated a flea market. She and Mr. Owens had been married for seventy-two years. Surviving are her husband, Jesse F. Owens, of the home; Daughter, Vickie Maness and husband, Roger, of Star, NC; Grandsons, Jesse Franklin Maness and wife, Andrea, of Graham, NC; Jeremy Dale Maness and wife, Kelsey, of Star, NC; Great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Sarah Kathryn Maness of Graham, NC; and Morgan Maness of Star, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Sunday, July 17, 2011, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star. At other times, the family will be at the home of Vickie Maness, 4100 NC Hwy. 134 N., Star, NC.
