Samuel Hurley

Samuel "Gene" Hurley, Sr., age 82, formerly of 819 Hurley Farm Road, Star, died Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Autumn Care of Biscoe. Funeral will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 28, at Macedonia United Methodist Church in the Abner Community with Rev. Ron Scott officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia United Methodist Church Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Hurley was a native of Montgomery County where he was a self-employed farmer. He was a US Army veteran and a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church. Surviving are: Wife, Sue Caudill Hurley, of the home One Son: Samuel Eugene Hurley, Jr., Star Four Brothers: James B. Hurley, Troy Phillip Hurley, Star Noel Hurley, Lancaster, SC Wayne Hurley, Troy One Sister: Mildred Hurley Yongue, Laurinburg, NC Two Grandchildren The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Sunday, September 27, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
