Phillip L. Welch

Phillip L. Welch, age 73, of 236 Dover Street, Star, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at his residence. A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 15, 2010, at Star UMC Cemetery with Randy Allen officiating. Mr. Welch was born in Moore County. He was a graduate of Star High School and Guilford College. He was a retired teacher for Montgomery County Schools with 31 years of service. He dedicated his life to teaching the young people of Montgomery County where he instilled the love of English and Reading to his students. His parents, Fred L. (Benny) and Louise Phillips Lamonds, preceded him in death. Surviving are his brother, Andy Lee Lamonds and wife, Judy, of Biscoe; nephew, Michael L. Lamonds of Sanford; niece, Cindy Anderson of Alpharetta, GA. There will be no visitation.
