Edgar McCallum

Biscoe - Edgar McCallum, 84, of 2996 Tarry Church Road, died Sunday, June 3, 2012, at Autumn Care of Biscoe. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at McCallum Family Cemetery, Candor, with the Rev. Michael Free and John Williams officiating. Mr. McCallum was born in Montgomery County to Algie and Cora Lamonds McCallum. He was a farmer, carpenter, and a World War II veteran of the US Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Britt McCallum. He is survived by his son, Greg McCallum, of Candor; daughter, Holly Martin and husband, Robin, of Candor; sister, Virginia Talbert, of Wilmington; granddaughter, Brittany Martin. The family will received friends at the home of Robin and Holly Martin, 627 South Main Street, Candor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, 523 Tabernacle Church Road, Candor, NC 27229. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at McCallum Family Cemetery, Candor, with the Rev. Michael Free and John Williams officiating.
