Seagrove - Walter Junior Dunlap, 87, of 487 Dover Church Road, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Randolph Hospice House. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 5, 2012, at Needham's Grove Independent Baptist Church with the Rev. James E. Cockram and Pastor David Synder officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Dunlap was born in Moore County to Walter W. and Burlie McNeill Dunlap. He was a World War II veteran of the US Army, a member of Robbins VFW, and was a retired supervisor with Taylor Mobile Homes Inc. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Aleen McGill, Ruby Yow, Clarice Wilkes; brother, Buren Dunlap. Surviving are his wife, Geneva Scott Dunlap, of the home; son, Wilbur Dunlap, of Seagrove, daughter, Inez Asbill, of Seagrove; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Randolph Hospice House, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204 or Robbins VFW Post # 9245, 991 Flint Hill Church Road, Robbins, NC 27325.
