Seagrove - Loucendy Davis Smith, 88, of 460 Hogan Farm Road, died Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Asbury Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Wayne Bryson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was born in Moore County to Ira Spinks and Martha Elizabeth Brewer Davis and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas (Seck) Smith; daughter, Nannie Smith; sister, Edith Allred; brothers, Grady Davis, Elbert Davis, Dennis Davis, Lewis Davis, and Dalton Davis.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty Smith Spivey (Larry) of Biscoe; sons, Roger Davis (Lola), Jerry Smith (Ella Mae), Thurman Smith (Betty Jo), James Smith (Misty), all of Seagrove; sisters, Amy Hurley (Paul), of Troy, Lena Brown (Joe), of Asheboro; brothers, Harvey Davis (Estelle), of Seagrove, Waylon Davis (Barbara), of Seagrove, Winford Davis (Sandy), of Star; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.

Memorials may be made to Asbury Baptist Church, 218 Asbury Church Road, Seagrove, NC 27341 or Randolph County Hospice, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
