Asheboro - Margaret Ellen King, 69, died Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hubert McLeod officiating. Interment will be in Maple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. King was born in Montgomery County to David Creal and Reba Corbett Hogan. She was a retired security guard with the NC Department of Corrections and attended Leach Road Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roland King and brothers, Gene Hogan and Jason Creal Hogan. She is survived by her son, Randy Lee Parks (Dawn) of Oak Hill, West Virginia; daughter, Sara Rebecca Covell (Alan) of Sophia; sister, Elizabeth Williamson (Mitchell) of Seagrove; brothers, Jimmie Hogan (Joyce) of Biscoe, Larry Hogan (Malinda) of Candor, Sammy Hogan of Germanton, Frank Abernathy (Joyce) of Garner; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM, Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at the home of Mitchell and Elizabeth Williamson, 163 Emmanuel Church Road, Seagrove. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the ARC of Montgomery County for the Jesse Cole Center, c/o Teresa Bruton, PO Box 56, Candor, NC 27229. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Hubert McLeod officiating. Interment will be in Maple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM, Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at the home of Mitchell and Elizabeth Williamson, 163 Emmanuel Church Road, Seagrove.
