Star - Joseph Thomas Dunn, 68, of Black Ankle Road,died Thursday, October 8, 2015. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, October 11, 2015, at Big Oak Church of God with the Rev. Chris Boyd and Rev. Billy Ray Chriscoe officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Dunn was born in Montgomery County to Charlie Lee Dunn and Georgia Lucille Shofe Dunn. He was a retired sewing machine mechanic with Clayson Knitting Co. Inc. He loved hunting and fishing. His father preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Johnson, of Star; mother, Georgia S. Dunn, of Troy; sister, Lois Lucille Brady (Michael) of Bennett; brothers, Roby Lee Dunn (Louise) of Seagrove, John Franklin Dunn (Sandy) of Troy, Roy Edward Dunn (Pam) of Erect, Charlie Dunn of Trinity; step-sons, James Davis (Angela) of Ellerbe, Leslie Davis of Wilmington; step-daughter, Vickie Davis (Marshall) of Star; and his dog, Little Khloe. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star. Memorials may be made to Big Oak Church of God, c/o Rev.
