Mary Lou Terrell Green

Star - Mary Lou Terrell Green, 87, of Dover Church Road, died Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Red Branch Baptist Church, Carthage, with the Rev. Scott McInnis and the Rev. Chris Bouldin officiating. Interment will be in Dover Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Green was born in Surry County to James Howard and Pearl Simpson Terrell. She was the owner/operator of Mary Lou's Beauty Shop. She was an active member of Red Branch Baptist Church, where she was the organist and pianist for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Annie Mae Key and Verna Southern; brother, Graham Terrell; step-mother, Katie Suggs Terrell; and step-sister, Emma West. She is survived by her husband, William Clyde Green, of the home; brother, Bobby Terrell, of Texas; step-children, Darrell Green and Phyllis Ann Hill; several nieces and nephews; and her loyal companion/friend, her dog, Scottie. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, October 23, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
