James Donald Anderson

James Donald (Don) Anderson of 235 Green Street, Biscoe, NC, formerly of Kernersville, NC, died December 24 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

He was born September 18, 1932 in Wilkes County to Gail and Mae Warren Anderson. He served in the Korean War from 1950-1951 in the 2nd Infantry Division. He enjoyed reading, especially old western and military books. He also enjoyed playing golf with his friends.

He married Dorothy Maness November 4, 1952, who survives him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Kenneth Anderson of Winston Salem and Clyde Anderson of North Wilkesboro. He is survived by his son, Daryl Anderson (Linda) of Kernersville; brothers, Carl L. H. Anderson (Eva) and Charles J. Anderson both of North Wilkesboro; sister JoAnn Jarvis (Wayne) of Wilkesboro; and several nieces and nephews.

At his request, there will be no service or formal visitation. The family will receive friends at the home Sunday, December 27, from 1-5:00 pm. His remains will be cremated and placed in the Salisbury National Cemetery. Any memorials may be made to FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care, PO Box 5889, Pinehurst, NC 28374.
