She is survived by one daughter, Juanita Kay Mims and husband, Ray, of Charlotte; sisters, Betty Kiser of Vass and Louvene McBride of Danville, VA; brother, James Blake of San Carlos, California; grandsons, Caleb Mims and wife, Ashley, and Stephen Mims; great-grandson, Ethan Mims; great-granddaughter, Brylie Mims; and caregiver, Susanna Lynn, of the home.

A celebration of her life and the joy she brought to others will begin at 2:00 pm at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Jamie Sink and Rev. Dr. Bruce Dickerson officiating. Interment will be in Biscoe Cemetery.

Clara was an example of Christian love to all who knew her. She was a faithful charter member of Southside Baptist Church for 66 years. She was a selfless servant who displayed her love for Jesus Christ by encouraging others to do work for the Lord.

Clara endured much affliction without complaining, always putting other before herself. She would often say, "I want to be more like Jesus". She will be greatly missed.

The family wants to extend a special thanks to Home Care of the Carolinas, Healthy at Home, and Community Home Care and Hospice. Kay and her family would like to express deep appreciation to her caregiver, Susanna Lynn, for the dedication and excellent care she provided for 9 ½ years to our loved one.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Southside Baptist Church, 125 Cedar Creek Road, Biscoe, NC 27209.
