Virgil Ray Cagle

Seagrove - Virgil Ray Cagle, age 84, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 at FirstHealth Moore Regional in Pinehurst.

Mr. Cagle was born in Montgomery County on February 6, 1933 to Irvin and Ella Vasti Comer Cagle. He was a retired frame shop truck driver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Leona Varner Cagle and brothers, Melvin, Joe, and Clyde Cagle.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Smith Cagle, of the home; daughters, Jo Ella Oldham and husband, Mark, of Asheboro and Glenda Earnhardt and husband, Todd, of Concord; son, Gary Cagle and wife, Judy, of Stokesdale; step-son, Rayvon Davis and wife, Katherine, of Asheboro; sisters, Annie Ruth Rose of Ether and Betty Lineberry of Robbins; grandchildren, Daniel Sheffield, Tiffani Earnhardt, Christian Cagle, Dawson Davis, and Fallon Davis; great-grandson, Caleb Sheffield.

The family will receive friends Sunday, December 24, 2017 from 12:30 - 1:45 pm at Dover Baptist Church.

The funeral will begin at 2:00 pm with the Rev. Chris Bouldin officiating. Interment will be in Hopewell Friends Meeting Cemetery in Asheboro.
