Biscoe - Annie Mae Owens Strider, age 86, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at her home.

Mrs. Strider was born in Montgomery County on September 19, 1932, to Moses and Betty Lawson Owens. She was a retired hosiery mill employee and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Strider and her siblings, Angie Lawson, Georgia McNeill, Carl Owens, Ray Owens, Lena Mabe, and Garl Owens.

She is survived by her daughters, Chris Moore of Biscoe, Betty Hancock of Robbins, and Penny Davis of Biscoe; sister, Marie Brown of Southern Pines; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Phillips Funeral Home.

The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 9, at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Davis and Rev. Howard Moffit officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
