Zeb Revere "Jimmy" Shuping

Zeb Revere "Jimmy" Shuping passed away early Tuesday morning, June 2, 2020, in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. He was born August 11, 1933 and was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, and friend to many. Growing up in Biscoe, he was active in sports as captain of the football team and a member of the basketball team. He married his high school sweetheart, Sally Long Shuping, and had a beautiful 65 year marriage with her until she passed in 2018. Soon after their marriage Jimmy and Sally moved to Kaleen, Texas, where he was stationed in the Army for two years and where two of their sons were born. They moved back to NC where they had two more children while Jimmy had a 35 year career with Carolina Power and Light in Troy, then Siler City, Pittsboro, and Southern Pines. Afterward they returned to Biscoe to enjoy retirement together, from where they would often spend time on Oak Island to fish and relax. Jimmy was a member of the United Methodist Church and an active member of the Mason fraternal organization. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. He is survived by sons, Jim of Durham, Bill of Boone, and Bob of Chapel Hill; daughter, Lori Shuping Snell of Nantucket, Massachusetts; brother, Sam of Candor; ten grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be announced at a later time.
