Roger Dale Dunn

Star - Roger Dale Dunn, age 75, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021, at his residence. Roger was born in Montgomery County on May 20, 1945, to Hagie Garland and Lola Alice Lucas Dunn. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and was employed for 18 years with Clayson Knitting Co Inc. He dearly loved his family. He enjoyed gardening, singing in the choir, and woodworking. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Preslar. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Kearns Dunn, of the home; daughters, Miranda Dunn Brown (Chris) of Cleveland, TN, and Tammy Dunn Gillis (Butch) of Fayetteville; stepchildren, Audrey Honeycutt (Richard) of Troy, Polly Riggsbee (Junior) of Norwood, Sherry Harris of Mt. Gilead, and Robert Gallimore (Malinda) of Norwood; brothers, Garland Dunn (Brenda), Hoyet Dunn and Timothy Dunn (Tammy), all of Star; sisters, Loretta Tester (Dennis) of Silver Valley and Teresa Brady (Larry) of Eagle Springs; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. The family will have a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, PO Box 434, Star, NC 27356 or a church of choice.
