Elizabeth "Anne" Barbour Davis

Seagrove - Elizabeth Anne Barbour Davis, age 78, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at her home. Anne was born in Rocky Mount, VA, on October 7, 1942, to Coley and Mabel Akers Barbour. She worked at B&B Walker and Acme McCrary Hosiery Mill. She was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church in Seagrove. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy and C.L. Barbour. She was an avid seamstress and taught tole painting classes at Randolph Community College and made and decorated wedding cakes. Her talents are too many to list. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends far and near. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joseph Wade "J.W." Davis, Jr.; sons, Kevin Davis and Travis Davis, both of Mt. Gilead; daughter, Annette Lucas and son-in-law, Seth of Seagrove; grandchildren, Hannah and Mason Lucas of Seagrove; and sister, Barbara Clingenpeel of Boones Mill, VA. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 1, at Asbury Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard McNeill and Rev. Bill Simpson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. J.W.'s loving soul went above and beyond during Anne's last months. Her family is forever grateful to Hospice of Randolph and the many doctors and nurses that helped her for many years. Also, a special thanks to Stephanie Rivera and Jennifer Hussey for taking such good care of Anne during her most time of need.
